Promote Your Web Site in All Forms of Media
By Susanne Svette, IdeaStar Search Engine Specialist
Search engine marketing is one way to get your Web site noticed, but don’t forget the old tried-and-true methods.
Promoting your Web address on your company literature will attract visitors to your site. Use a prominent space on your business cards, brochures, fliers, etc. Readers will be encouraged to visit your site next time they are online. Or if you’re really lucky, they’ll sign on just to learn more about you and your company.
Take advantage of partnerships and associations. They may have online and/or print directories in which you can post a link to your site. Many listings are free or cost a minimal amount.
How many e-mails do you send per day? Add a link to your Web site underneath your signature. How convenient. E-mail readers can instantly transfer to your Web site to learn more about you or your company.
Been in the news lately? Whether it is local or regional coverage, the mention of your Web address in a news article/broadcast can generate a good response.
Don’t forget traditional forms of advertising. Print ads, TV ads, radio ads, bumper stickers – even billboards. Make sure your Web address is on there.
And you may want to try a nontraditional route. Blogging has become a popular marketing tool. It’s free and it allows you to present your expertise in an informal manner not necessarily suitable for you Web site. A predominant link at the end of each article, sponsored by...., will take readers directly to your Web site. (See my link below.)
